Volkswagen magazine

In 1998, we created the first three issues of a magazine then called Tanečí sezóna (The Dance Season). Later on, the magazine layout was designed by various designers. In 2000, the renewed editorial office returned to our studio. Meanwhile, the magazine has changed its format to A2 and its name to Tanečí zóna (The Dance Zone). The vast space of the facing pages permitted experiments with typefaces and photographs, and it also made possible rather generous approach to the published materials. However, the readers demanded a return to the original format. Thus, since 2001, Zóna is again published in the 215 × 277 mm format. New changes in the editorial office and new, bilingual form were an impulse for a radical redesign of the magazine. Graphic design by Radek Sidun from 2003 offered more space for visual features, the typography was sober and at the same time surprising. Taneční zóna had around 80 pages, it was printed in two colours, and had metal ring binding. The images show the last three issues from 2004. Since 2005, the magazine is designed by a different studio. None of the members of the editorial office bothered to inform us of the fact that we will not continue to prepare the magazine, let alone disclosing the reasons for such change...
