Příští vlna / Next Wave / 8.10.2013
Filip Blažek designed a visual identity for the 20th annual festival of independent culture in Prague. Design is based on the famous The Great Wave at Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai.



International festival “Theatre” / 22.9.2013
For a theatre festival in Pilsen, we designed six posters with six Czech actors cheering for theatre. The photographer Lexa Hudeček created portraits of Ivana Chýlková, Jiří Lábus, Pavel Liška, Vanda Hybnerová, Petra Hřebíčková and Martin Stránský showing their support for the festival. The slogan “I cheer for the theatre” and the green color had been part of the festival visual identity for more than ten years.



In Quest of Czech Philosophy / 11.6.2013
Honza Dobeš designed a cover for the collection of studies published by the Institute of Philosophy. The book containing 388 pages was edited by Erazim Kohák. Design of the cover folows the visual style of covers of The Journal of Philospohy designed by Honza several years ago. The painting in the background created František Kaván.



My European Commitment / 24.5.2013
For the Civil Society Development Foundation we designed an essay by Ladislav Čerych. The hardcover book is printed on Munken Print White paper, the headband and bookmark are both of natural color. The Czech translation and the original English texts are separated by photographic supplement. Photo and texts on the dust jacket are highlighted by UV varnish. The layout is very decent, emphasising the legibility, with the exception of front cover and title pages of the essay.



Rythm Creation Theatre / 20.5.2013
The first volume of Rythm Creation Theatre trilogy by Bohumil Nuska was just published. Cover design by Filip Blažek. Inside layout was designed together with Zdeněk Franc. For the cover we used Falster Grotesk by Jan Novák. Published by Prague Stage publishing house.



Our works in İstanbul / 14.5.2013
On May 6, 2013, an exhibition of our works was opened as a part of the 17th İstanbul international graphic design week Grafist. You can visit the show in the Cezayir Salon (Hayriye Cad. 16, Galatasaray, Beyoğlu, İstanbul) until May 31, 2013. Apart from books, magazines and posters we designed you can find here a collection of posters designed by Czech artists during the Velvet Revolution in 1989. There are two additional Grafist exhibitions: the Dutch designers Richard Niessen & Esther de Vries and Danish artist Finn Nygaard.



MarketingSalesMedia / 23.4.2013
A brand new weekly will be launched on 29 April 2013 by Empresa Media Publishing House. Designed by Filip Blažek. We will feature photos as soon as it will be published.



Čerpací stanice magazine / 1.4.2013
Design of the new magazine “Petrol Stations” for Economia publishing house. Unfortunately the magazine design by Filip Blažek didn’t survive the first issue. The publishing house stopped the project because of the “optimalisation of magazine portfolio”. Pages of the magazine featured a combination of dark blue and orange colours and headline font Ronnia by TypeTogether.



Graduation Projects gatalog / 14.3.2013
The catalog featuring winners of the Graduation Projects competition was published as a Typo Magazine #50 supplement. It features 20 projects by graphic designers and 20 projects by product designers who graduated in one of the four Visegrad countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary). Headlines are set in Pressburger typeface by Vojtech Ruman, Slovak typographer and one of the winners. The catalog designed by Filip Blažek is online at Issuu. GymTracer / 30.1.2013
New logotype, identity and app icons for a brand new training system GymTracer. The website and GymTracer mobile applications allow easy administration of an exercise diary. The system (developed in the Czech Republic) features a catalogue of exercises shown in 3D animations, statistics and much more.



Lie and hate / 26.1.2013
Lie and hate won the Czech presidential elections for the next five years. Dear friends, today, new president of my country was elected. An arrogant populist and liar Miloš Zeman surrounded by people connected to organized crime or former communist secret police. I am very sorry for that. Please don't feel offended by this vulgar idiot in the next five years. He doesn't represent all the people of the Czech Republic. — Filip Blažek

A series of logotypes for an award given by Bankovnictví and Moderní řízení magazines. Designed by Honza Dobeš. The award is aimed at promoting the best IT companies working for the finance industry.



A journey of typography / 2.1.2013
A stationery collection “The Paper Pleasure” for the hospice civic association The Homecoming. Our motive features typographic photos from around the world by Linda Kudrnovská. We've also designed seven other motives using illustrations by Martina Špinková. You can buy get the stationery collection at The Homecoming website or in the charity shop in Prague.
