365typo annual book / 27.9.2015
365typo: 365 stories on type, typography and graphic design has been released in September.

The 365typo book, published in collaboration with Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI), features 365 stories by the best writers in the field of typography, visual communication, and type and graphic design from all over the world. As you turn the pages of 365typo you’ll find key issues, themes, events, behind-the-scenes storytelling and even the 50 most interesting typefaces of 2014. The book presents not only crucial stories and facts, but also analyses and predictions of future developments in the industry. Over a hundred leading writers and designers have contributed to the book, such as John D. Berry, Erik Spiekermann and John L. Walters.

Designed by Filip Blažek, the layout of the book reflects some of the current design trends and this concept will be followed in the next editions as well. Every page contains a general category defining the main theme of the texts, and each text has a tag for easy navigation. The text type is Capitolium 2 (TypeTogether), headline type Berlingske Serif (Playtype) and the microtypography features Neue Haas Unica (Monotype).

365typo is published in English by étapes: editions, Paris, together with ATypI. The book has hard cover, 308 pages, dimensions 230 × 283 mm and it was printed by D’Auria Printing, Italy, using 5 colors on Magno Natural 140 g. ISBN: 979-10-95254-00-3.

Bontia, a popular on-line tool for photo books and calendars, has got a new logotype. The identity was designed by Honza Dobeš and Filip Blažek: “We tried to merge contemporary style with tradition and handicraft. We think the combination of a modern sans serif B with a calligraphic swash is a perfect expression of our idea.” The individual letter B in a circle is a conscious symbol, a stamp of quality and a strong icon of various apps. We’ve designed a logotype and an identity for a Czech project Habitant. Habitant is an internet app for complex management of homeowners associations. Designed by Filip Blažek in March 2015.

We are working on a festival identity. Open House will offer free access to dozens of edifices around Prague. The festival Open House is organized world wide in many cities. The event. in Prague will be held May 16–17, 2015. Organized by Open House Praha, z. ú. Illustrations by Michal Bačák.

We just finished designing the second issue of the magazine for the Charles University, Prague. The visualisation features spreads related to main theme of the magazine: the egyptology.
